Ica, Paracas National Reserve, Ballestas Islands and the Nazca Lines

One of the most attractive destinations in Southern Peru.
The department of Ica is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Southern Peru. With the third driest desert in the world, Ica has a unique geography and a sea rich in biodiversity. It has attractions like the Paracas National Reserve and the Ballestas Islands (also known as the Peruvian Galapagos), where you can enjoy the company of sea lions and of thousands of birds, just a few meters from you. The immense sand dunes, over 1,800 meters high, are the perfect place for the best sand boarding in the continent and for many other adventures in the desert. The Nazca lines, one of the biggest archaeological mysteries in the world, and the surprising cemetery of the Nazca culture await your visit. Last but not least, the numerous vineyards in the valleys produce excellent wine, and, of course, Peruvian Pisco, considered being one of the best liquors in the world.
