Day 1 | Lima

Transfer in to your hotel in Lima. Briefing upon arrival.

Day 2 | Lima – Chiclayo

Transfer to Lima airport and flight to Chiclayo. At arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. Then, tour Tucume town and pyramids, impressive structures of clay, proof of how advanced were the pre-Inca cultures in the north of Peru; then visit to the Lord of Sipan Royal Museum and the Pyramids of Sicán, return to Chiclayo in the afternoon. Lunch included in Lambayeque.

Days 3, 4 & 5 | Chiclayo - Chaparrí - Chiclayo

3 days in the Chaparri Ecological Reserve, this reserve counts with the biggest amount of endemic birds in Peru, where they have a project to re-insert the spectacle bear and white winged guan. Return to Chiclayo on day 5 and transfer to the hotel.

Day 6 | Chiclayo – Mancora

Transfer to the bus station and bus to Mancora. Transfer to the hotel and the rest of the day is free.

Day 7 | Mancora

Free time to enjoy this wonderful beach or any other beaches, such as Punta Sal, Punta Mero, Cancas etc. We recommend different activities around the beach, such us Kite surfing, surfing, fishing and bird watching in the area and more.

Day 8 | Mancora – Mangroves of Tumbes National Sanctuary – Zorritos

In the morning transfer in private transport to the district of Villa Primavera (10 minutes from Peru/Ecuador borderline). Arrival to "Puerto 25" and visit to the National Sanctuary. The visit is made in a rowboat. We will stop in a platform in the mangrove and take a guided walk for about 50 meters to enjoy nature and environment. Return to the town and transfer to the hotel in Zorritos just in front of this beautiful sea.

Day 9 | Zorritos – Tropical forest of Tumbes

Breakfast early in the morning and transfer to the city of Tumbes in a 4x4 van. We will cross Pampas de Hospital to get to the Reserved Area of Tumbes, which has a Pacific Tropical Forest ecosystem. After arrival to Caucho, we will camp and have lunch. In the afternoon, we will walk along Quebrada de las Pavas. Dinner and fire lit.

Day 10 | Tropical forest of Tumbes - Zorritos

Very early in the morning, before breakfast, we will walk along Quebrada la Unión, where the Howler Monkey of Tumbes is frequently seen. Breakfast and walk to the crystalline water pond where we will be able to enjoy nature. Lunch and optional bicycle ride to Pampas de Hospital. Transfer to Zorritos.

Day 11 | Zorritos - Tumbes - Lima

Transfer to the Tumbes airport and flight to Lima. At arrival transfer to the Hotel in the Miraflores district. Free night.

Day 12 | Lima

After breakfast the tour starts in Miraflores district with a visit to the Miraflores Market to learn a little about the diversity of the products in our country. Walk along the Miraflores “Malecon” with an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean and then, transfer to the Barranco district, which is considered to be the city's most romantic and bohemian district, home and working place of many of Peru's leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers. Gourmet buffet lunch included at Puro Peru restaurant, here we will taste the diversity of the Peruvian cuisine. After lunch, colonial Lima tour, we pass by the “Paseo de la República” avenue where we can observe the magnificent Courthouse, the French Palace, continuing with San Martin Square and the Main Square where we have the Cathedral, the Archbishopric, the Government Palace and the Lima City Hall. Finally visit to the Larco Museum, which features the finest gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru and the famous erotic archaeological collection, and is one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions. Return to your hotel and night free. Remember that Lima has a very wide range of excellent restaurants, like Astrid & Gaston and Central considered among the 20 best restaurants in the world.

Day 13 | Paracas – Nazca

We depart at 4 am in the morning with private transport. At arrival to Paracas tour to the Ballestas Islands. On return from the Islands, private transport through the Ica desert to the town of Nazca, box lunch included. Arrival in Nazca at night, overnight in Wasipunko lodge, dinner included.

Day 14 | Nazca – Arequipa

Early morning over flight the mysterious Nazca Lines. An amazing Pachamanca, a traditional Inca Ceremonial Lunch included; during the afternoon, the aqueducts and Chauchilla cemetery tour, which conserves hundreds of pre-Inca mummies and tapestries. At night, a very comfortable bus to the White City of Arequipa.

Day 15 | Arequipa

Transfer & check in, city tour in the afternoon that includes: the monastery of Santa Catalina, Yanahuara and Carmen Alto districts, the cathedral and La Compañia Church and cloister.

Days 16 | Arequipa – Colca Canyon

Morning departure to Colca Canyon, on the way we visit the reserve Aguada Blanca and Salinas, which is located at 4800 meters above sea level , arrival to the village of Chivay at midday. After lunch we will relax in the thermal baths. Night free.

Day 17 | Colca Canyon – Puno

Early in the morning we depart to Cruz Del Condor, border cliff of one of the deepest canyons on earth. Here with a little luck we'll spot the Andean Condor, we'll also visit various towns and observation points of the canyon along the way, return to Chivay at midday, lunch in Chivay and private transport to Puno. At arrival transfer to the hotel.

Day 18 | Puno - Taquile - Amantani

This excursion begins at 7:30 am with transfer from your hotel to the port, here you have 10 min. to do any last minute shopping, then a boat ride of three hours will take us to the unique Taquile island. There a long path gradually ascending will take us to the village (50 min. hike approx) to visit the communal cooperative. Lunch at one of the local restaurants. The views are magnificent. Then after lunch you have a walk of about 30 min to the boat to continue to the Amantani Island where we overnight with a local family that will provide us with food and shelter. Optional activities for the afternoon, hike to the highest point of the island to watch the sunset or just interact with the locals at night.

Day 19 | Amantani - Uros - Puno

Breakfast and departure to Uros island. After 3 hours of navigation we will arrive to Uros floating island. We'll see the houses, the islands and sailing on traditional reed boats can be arranged and Return to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel.

Day 20 | Puno – Cusco

Incredible scenery on the road to Cusco. This scenery bus and some stops on the way will show you the real face of the Peruvian Andes. Arrival to Cusco in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel.

Day 21 | Cusco - Pisac - Ollantaytambo

Private Sacred Valley tour with a visit to the downtown of Pisac and then, free time to shop in the famous handicraft market. Lunch included on the way Pisac - Urubamba in Tunupa restaurant (novo-andina cuisine). Visit to artist Pablo Seminario's house and to the Ollantaytambo complex. Overnight in Ollantaytambo.

Day 22 | Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu

In the morning train to Aguas Calientes, at arrival transfer to our hotel. For the afternoon we suggest a visit to Mandor waterfalls. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 23 | Machu Picchu – Cusco

Morning visit to Machu Picchu History and Natural Sanctuary at sunrise and then free time to enjoy the complex on your own. In the afternoon return to Aguas Calientes and train to Ollantaytambo, from there bus to our hotel in Cusco. Night free.

Day 24 | Cusco

City tour, includes visit to Qenco, Sacsayhuaman, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay complexes, the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha and the Cathedral in Cusco. Night free.

Day 25 | Cusco – Bambu Lodge (cloud forest)

We leave Cusco early in the morning in our private transport. On the way we’ll pass over interesting inner Andean valleys and Andean communities. We also visit the interesting pre-Inca tombs of Ninamarka known as Chullpas, and then we continue to the colonial town of Paucartambo where we have a walk in town to stretch legs. From here we continue to Acjanaco pass at 3500 meters above sea level where a ranger station marks the southernmost point of the park, here we start descending into the Amazon basin. We will go through different ecological levels one of them the cloud forest rich in endemic species like the Spectacle bear (Tremarctos
 rnatus
), Orchids, Tree ferns, Bromeliads, etc. At dusk we will stop to observe the Cock of the Rocks (Rupicola peruviana) Peru’s national bird, from a hidden platform, the male birds are a vibrant reddish orange, and as several of them come together for an exhibition of a mating ritual dance in a place called lek, the males display their crest, showing off and posturing for the females, the females, fewer in number, watch to select the most suitable males. After this activity we continue to our lodge in Asuncion where we overnight.

Day 26 | San Pedro – Shipetiari (rain forest)

After breakfast we continue down the narrow road through canyons and waterfalls towards the town of Pilcopata, where rivers and streams still having step and strong currents come together to make the Alto Madre de Dios river to cut the last mountain in a canyon named pongo de Coñeq before they go into the flat Amazon floor. In Pilcopata there is a colonizers population that came on the 70s to dedicate to the timber industry through the dirt road that heads to the Madre de Dios valley. Now a days with the time and creation of the park this business is not longer so profitable and many of these populations dedicate to farm crops like manioc, pineapple, rice and specially coca leaves; from Pilcopata we continue to Atalaya which is the first pluvial port of Alto Madre de Dios river. At this point we unload our car and load our motor boat, from Atalaya we sail for about 4 or 5 hours to Shipetiari Native Community where we overnight in a lodge with open platforms with beds and mosquito nets. On the way we will be able to see the great diversity of the wildlife like terns, cormorants, kingfishers and some raptors between the bird; we can also spot reptiles and mammals on the river shore. Optional: River rafting from Pilcopata to Atalaya port for about one and a half hour.

Day 27 | Shipetiari – Casa Matsiguenka

After breakfast we board our boat and proceed to Manu river. After approximately 2 hours of navigation we arrive to the village call Boca Manu located at the confluence of Manu river and Alto Madre de Dios river, here we will make a stop in order to do the last minute shopping we may need to continue up stream Manu river to our destination Casa Matsiguenka, we will make a quick stop after an hour of navigation from Boca Manu at Limonal ranger station where we register in the official tourist logbook. On this boat ride we will be able to spot bird species like black skimmer (Rynchops nigra), Horned screamer (Anhima cornuta), reptiles like White cayman (Caiman crocodilus), turtles like the Taricaya (Podocemis unifilis) and some mammals sunbathing on the river shore like Jaguar (Panthera onca), la Tayra (Eira Barbara) or feeding on the canopy like the Wooly monkey (Lagothrix agothricha), Spider monkey (Ateles paniscus). This journey will show us the immensity of our rain forest. At arrival to the lodge we will assign the room and then we will organize a walk on the trail system there.

Day 28 | Casa Matsiguenka

The howl of the Howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus) at sunrise will mark the beginning of the day, today early in the morning we will go to Salvador oxbow lake, these lakes formed as a consequence of the fluvial dynamics of the meandering rivers, generates a very particular and diverse ecosystem. We will explore Salvador lake on a catamaran in search of species like the family of Giant otters (Ternura basilienses) highly endangered, important inhabitant of the oxbow lakes where it can be seen playing, fishing or swimming, and also the arch enemy of the otter the Black cayman (Melanosuchus niger); birds like the particular Hoatzin (Ophisthocomus hoatzin), the Spider monkey (Ateles paniscus), etc. and the flora at the lake edges; after this activity we come back to the lodge. Or the afternoon your guide will organize a walk on the trail system of Cocha Salvador. Optional night walk.

Day 29 | Casa Matsiguenka

Today we will visit another important oxbow lake on the reserved zone, Cocha Otorongo, located 1 hour of boat ride from Casa Matsiguenka, here we will use the trail system of this primary forest and the observation platform at 15 meters high on the shores of the lake. At Otorongo oxbow lake the diversity is big and the possibilities to spot wildlife are high, between the species we can observe on this trail system are monkeys like Spider (Ateles paniscus), brown capuchin (Cebus paella), Squirrel monkey (Saimiri sciureus); we can also spot birds like Paradise tanager (Tangara chilensis), flycatchers like Thamnomanes schistogynus, woodcreepers, woodpeckers and mixed bird flocks on the walks; and the typical birds of the oxbow lakes like Rusfecent Tiger- heron (Tigrisoma lineatum), Cocoi heron (Ardea cocoi), Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga), Wattle Jacana (Anhinga anhinga).

Day 30 | Casa Matsiguenka - Shipetiari

We will depart from Casa Matsiguenka early in the morning to benefit from the early hours of navigation on the Manu river to our destination Casa Pankotsi in Shipetiari. The first hour of the day are the best to observe wildlife from the boat. Species like the biggest rodent in the world the Capybara (Hydrochaeris hydrochaeris), the tapir (Tapirus
terrestris
) can be seen on the river shores, as well as Blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), White-throated Toucan (Ramphastos tucanus) on the forest canopy or flying . Overnight at Casa Pankotsi on the native community of Shipetiari.

Day 31 | Shipetiari - Aguas Calientes

Today after breakfast we can visit the native community and learn about the customs and worldview of the Matsiguenka culture. After that we take our boat and after approximately 4 hours of navigation we arrive to Aguas Calientes  where we overnight in a lodge on the other side of the river from Shintuya native community. We spent the afternoon relaxing on the natural thermal baths there.

Day 32 | Aguas Calientes – Cusco

After breakfast we take our boat for about 3 hours to Atalaya port, where our private transport is waiting to bring us to Cusco, we expect to arrive in Cusco at dusk. On arrival to Cusco transfer to the hotel.

Day 33 | Cusco – Lima

After breakfast, transfer to the Cusco airport and flight back to Lima. End of our services.
