Puno and the Titicaca Lake | 5 days

The Titicaca National Reserve, the highest navigable lake in the world. The department of Puno rises over 3,700 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by the magic of the Lake Titicaca, the largest in South America and the highest navigable lake in the world. A blend of the Quechua and Aymara cultures can be found in Puno. You will enjoy magnificent landscapes, islands and native communities lost in time, Pre-Inca temples dedicated to the sun and the moon, and a cultural identity like no other in the continent. The traveler looking for a real experience will enjoy a visit to the Amantaní and Taquile islands and the unique activities programmed there, while staying with a local family. Another attraction is the floating islands of the Uros, made of totora (reeds), where ancient Andean traditions are still preserved. You can also visit the royal tombs of Sillustani, or simply benefit with the peace and tranquility of one of the most beautiful places in this part of the world.


Day 1 | Lima - Puno

On arrival to Juliaca, private transport to the city of Puno and overnight there. The rest of the day is free.

Day 2 | Puno - Sillustani

In the morning we will travel through the vast Altiplano to arrive to Sillustani you will have the chance to observe impressive examples of pre-Inca architecture considered masterpieces even by modern architectural standards. Huge funerary towers are set in spectacular landscapes formed by the surrounding mountains and the “Umayu” Lagoon. This tour will give you a wide perspective of the regional history and understand the origin of the Incas. Return to Puno and the rest of the day is free.

Day 3 | Puno - Taquile - Amantani

This excursion begins at 7:30 am with transfer from your hotel to the port, here you have 10 minutes to do any last minute shopping, then a boat ride of three hours will take us to the unique Taquile island. There a gradually ascending long path will take us to the village (50 min. hike approx) to visit the communal cooperative. Lunch at one of the local restaurants. The views are magnificent. After lunch, a walk of about 30 minutes to the boat to continue to the Amantani Island where we overnight with a local family that will provide us with food and shelter. Optional activities for the afternoon, hike to the highest point of the island to watch the sunset or just interact with the locals.

Day 4 | Amantani - Uros - Puno

Breakfast and departure to Uros island. After 3 hours of navigation we will arrive to Uros floating island. We’ll see the houses and the islands. Sailing on traditional reed boats can be arranged. Return to Puno. Arrival in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel.

Day 5 | Puno - Lima

Transfer to Juliaca airport and end of our services.
